CANDIDATES IN THE SCHOOL OF ERROR

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

No matter how serious our efforts are in the school of life, we are
bound to hit some and might also miss others. To every glorious success there
are hidden failures or mistakes. What brings successful men to the state of
success is because they learnt from their mistakes or errors. Errors are
teachers telling us how not to do things so as to attain success.
The key difference between the candidate in the
school of success and a candidate in the school of error is Attitude. Dr. G.
Campbell Morgan tells of a man whose shop had been burned in the great Chicago
fire. He arrived at the ruins the next morning carrying a table. He set it up
amid the charred debris and above it placed this optimistic sign, “Everything
lost except wife, children, and hope. Business will be resumes as usual
tomorrow morning.”
Candidate in the school of error are ignorant of
the effect of failing to learn from their mistakes. Your attitude to errors
matters a lot. The real fool is the man or women who are candidates in this
terrible school because they keep repeating errors and mistakes they’ve done
before. From challenges they will never see any chance of grace.
Among the students at a college was a young man
on crutches. Although not a handsome fellow, he had a talent for friendliness
and optimism and he earned many scholastic honors as well as the respect of his
class mates. One day a new student asked him what had caused him to become so
badly crippled “infantile paralysis” he replied. The new student then said
“with a misfortune like that, how can you face the world so confidently and so
happy” “oh” replied the polio victim “the diseases never touch my heart”. What
a graceful and wonderful attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens
to me and 90% of how I react to it, for we are in charge of our attitude.
Making mistakes is not a crime but repeating the
same mistake repeatedly is one way or the other, a major crime. Doing the same
thing repeatedly expecting a different result is tantamount to advance level of
foolishness
