People tend to seek for either a
need meeting church or a life transforming church or both when it comes to
choice making in church. In today’s church, what we possess as a church will
determine if people will be interested to come to our church or not. After the
end of this pandemic a lot of people will be making decisions to join a church
or change their church. We must be structured and ready to attract, accept
people and grow them for the Lord.

How our Churches can attract people
1) Go-ye Church: a church that will attract must first reach out. A lot
of people wants to come to our church but they are waiting for us to invite
them first. Train our members how to win friends, colleagues and neighbors. (Matt.28:19; Mk 16:15).

2) The Holy Spirit: The Church enablement comes from Him, we are definitely stranded without
Him. The scripture makes it clear that without Him we are cannot; “… for without me ye can do nothing” John 15:5. (Philippians 4:13)

3) Dynamics of Spirituality: To attain any form of numerical growth in the church,
spirituality is a major factor. The strength of any given church is centered on

The Power of God: The manifestation of the power of God, changes all things. As a
church we must desire the manifestation of God’s power in our midst. We must
never be an ordinary pastor but a pastor full of power and grace. (Eph 6:10).

Need Meeting Church: we must become a church that is meeting people’s needs, touching
lives and making impacts. One of the most effective type of evangelism in
today’s world is Solutions Evangelism.

Impactful Messages: Always deliver an inspiring and life transforming messages.
Sunday morning message preparation must stop, we must seek the face of God for
the people (Act 19:20; Rom10:17; Col

Living: Must be genuine
and practical in our Christian living as a church. Our members must be good
ambassador of Christ and it must show in all our dealings as a congregation. (Col 3:17; Matt 5:16).

8) Effective Discipleship Structure: People are attracted to Churches where they know that they
will be well groomed, cared for and trained to become a better follower of
Christ. Where the thirst for godliness and Christ-like living is paramount.

Community Impact: Look for a need in the community where the church is situated
and make effort to meet it. An isolated church is a church going nowhere.
People won’t fellowship with us if we don’t have a relationship with them. (II Cor. 8:9).

Community Pastor: until the community sees us as their pastor, they won’t see us
as the refuge they need. Attend Landlord association meeting and pray with
them. They’ll be the first to call you Our Pastor. Develop your relational
skills. (II Tim 3:17).

Institution Outreach: Influence the various institutions around your community:

12) Impactful Services: setup programs that will solve people
challenges. Never do a program for doing-it sake. Carry out a feasibility study,
understudy the major challenges facing most people attending your church and
the community, and then organize program to solve those needs. It can range
from marital, to financial, to deliverance, to academic and employment
breakthrough e.t.c. be time conscious during your services.

13) Continuous Development: people are always seeking for new things
from the mouth of a pastor. You must not appear predictable to your members. Be
creative; never refuse to invite help from trusted and genuine associates in
the ministry who are experts in certain field.

14) House of Prayer: our church must become a fire branded church, a
house of prayer. Setup the church members to become people that are addicted to
prayer. (Isaiah 56:7; Luke 19:46)

15) Effective and impactful workforce: Train and re-training of the
workers in the church helps them to be more effective and impactful. From the

16) Right Atmosphere: Our churches must be full of Joy, happiness and
love. Create an atmosphere of contagious joy and love. People must see the
manifestation of true love oozing out of us as a church. When there is
hostility in our midst, visitors will sense it and will not want to stay. (Ps 16:11)

17) Assimilation and Integration: it is not ok to only win them to
church we must also retain them through church integration. A process of moving

good and comfortable facilities. The sound system, the church environment,

19) Credible and Effective Leadership: This goes a long way to glue the
heart of people to any given church irrespective of our denomination. People
seek for true leaders they can follow and trust, someone who is worthy,
upstanding, upright and faithful. Lies and deceptive leadership repels the

21) Largeness of Heart: People will naturally go to places where they
will be accepted in love. Many Churches has a poor disposition to new visitors,
we tend to judgmental, thereby repelling them. Sinners will appear in their
natural state, it is our duty to lead them and teach them in the laws of
Christ. Our faces must show that we care.

evangelize is not enough, we must be able to know what their needs are. Our
trained visitation team must be able to adequately nurture them to stay. When
we visit them, it goes a long way to show that we care about them. This also
gives us the opportunity to reach out to their neighbors as well. In the same
vein, we must ensure that our House Caring Fellowship is impactful and
effective.
