VACANCY: Apply Within

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I cor. 3:9-15, Isaiah
6:8, Joel 3:13, Matthew 9:37-38, Luke 10:2.
The
aim of this topic is to create the awareness that will prompt us to check God’s
assessment about our ministry and service for Him and also to be able to
identify what might be wrong in our service as a worker and minister in his
Kingdom. It is crucial to know that the appraisal of men does not commensurate
God’s approval of our service for Him. Furthermore, the visibility of acclaimed
success in the service does not prove God’s contempt with our labour and work
pattern. Remember King Saul, a rejected king yet he ruled over Israel for
another 40 years. What surprised me basically is that fact that despite God’s
rejection of king Saul, he still fought and won battles, he had riches yet God
had already rejected his service and found another replacement.
Isaiah,
the priest had a case with God over the service he was rendering for God, in
his account in chapter 6: 8, revealed that God had placed an advert on his post
despite the fact that he was in full service for the Lord “who shall I send and who will go for us”, Isaiah was meant for the
job but yet an advert was placed for the post meant for him. When we fail to
occupy the duty post assigned by God or When we fail to be productive in our
service for the Lord according to His specification or when the master is not
pleased with our work, He places an advert for replacement bearing thus
“Vacancy: Apply within” what is the kind of man he is looking for?.
The
strangest part of it is that many are being celebrated while occupying the
wrong duty post, a job one will never be rewarded for. It is not how fast we
run or how busy we are for the Lord, it is how pleased is He. It might seems
like the world is celebrating your activity for the Lord in his service but we
need to ask ourselves, is my pre-destined post as a worker, evangelist,
teacher, minister e.t.c. in the service for the Lord not declared vacant. Am I
where God needs my service or am I occupying another man’s position, am I
running another man’s vision or mine, Has the Lord truly sent me on this errand
(Jeremiah 23:21, 27:15)
Causes
of a rejected service can easily make us a target of replacement ranging from: our
iniquity and guilt (Isaiah), our personality (Cain), our Meekness (Ability to
accept and yield to correction, a man that can be led), our Obedience (Saul),
our Patience, our Intent/Purpose e.t.c. It is imperative to note at this
junction that the harvest is extremely ripe and the need for true labourers is
imminent and germane to God’s end time agenda. I kept asking myself, why God is
calling more and more people in to the service. Simply because, the number of
available men for the job is not yet enough for the magnitude of harvest that
is available, thus no man is permitted to be idle. Therefore God is in need of
LABOURERS:
The
kind of LABOURERS God desires:
L – Laborious the service for God. These are men who
are characterized by effort to the point of exhaustion for God. They are men
who will do the master’s duty tirelessly. They are never idle, a zealous
worker, serving God with all they have.
A – Addicted to pleasing his master at all times
when convenient and when not. An addicted love of the Lord. A man that will
rather go down because of Jesus, than to shine without Him.
B – Bountiful in harvest, producing in abundance.
His harvest is plentiful, a fruitful servant in the service. His product
remains. A productive part of the body of Christ, a huge contributor to the
body of Christ.
O – Obedience to his master’s instruction. An ever
going servant. When he is led he moves unquestioning, whose personality
response to instruction is attractive and absolute comply to the set precept.
U – Under Authority of those God has set over him, a
faithful follower of the leaders set before him. A man that will never kill his
Moses that he might take over. He is subjected to teachers, mentors and fathers
who is using as builders to build his life. He is never an arrogant and self
sufficient in his pursuit of ministry. A true committed and faithful servant to
his leaders.
R – Reliable and dependable in the service for God.
Heaven can boast of his labour and produce. A man God trust, a time tested,
undeviating, tried and true servant and worker. A reliable source of kingdom service,
never deceitful in the work of God (Jeremiah
48:10a)
E – Evangelistic Consciousness: He is an addicted
soul winner, whose passion for dying souls is burning hot. The entirety of his
life is dedicated to the rescuing of the perishing souls. Every duty post he’s
opportune to be has a major target – salvation. He is always conscious of the
father’s business which was handed over to the church (Mark 16:15)
R – Resourceful in carrying out his called duty. He
is quick, skillful in thought and a co-ordinate worker. He strives to become
better and better. Learning daily and acquiring skills to make him become a
fruitful worker. Makes himself available for conferences, seminars and training
schools which helps in sharpen him for a more productive service. He is ever
studying (II Timothy 2:15)
S – Strong Scriptural Standing (SSS): contends and
stands for what the scriptures stands for. An addicted lover of the scripture
and abides heavily for whatever the scripture stands for. He is never tossed to
and fro by false and strange doctrines. He is a custodian of the values and
secrets of the scripture. He won’t bend the truth for anything, a scriptural
principle person who is conscious of what he is building (I Corinthians 3: 9-10)
CLASSES
OF POSITIONING BY LABOURERS IN THE KINGDOM
1.  APPROVED
POSITIONING: This is the perfect positioning in the vine yard, he is in the
right position and doing his duty rightly. A productive labourer, with the
right personality and mind set. A positioning that pleases the father unquestionably.

2. WRONG
POSITIONING: This comprises of people, who are occupying another man’s duty
post. Labouring wrongfully abandoning their own portion of work, sweating with
no hope of reward.

3. FRAUSTRATED
POSITIONING: This are those who are in the right position but are not satisfy
with the performance of such position based on the comparative measures with
other labourers. The duty post God has placed them is not soothing neither is
it a famous ground therefore, they are willing to relocate. I have heard ministers
call their location where God has send them ‘Dry land’ others call the ministry
or church ‘valley of dry bones’, ‘fruitless’ etc. Sir, you have been in that
church for years and you are so sure that is your allocated portion, but
nothing seems to be moving ‘STAND STILL’ Because if you move, all labour done
outside you location will be recorded as fruitless and a waste of resources.
Stay where he has asked you to stay. Therefore, stop calling your location
wrong names rather speak well to it, for it is what you call it that it shall
be. Don’t be frustrated else your post could be declared vacant.
   4. ABANDONED
POSITIONING: The third class are those who have abandoned their post in the
service. It is imperative to note that many are labourers in the kingdom who
have left their position in ministry. God will never change his plan because of
man he would rather change man. Abandoning your duty post as a worker and
minister is simply putting the lives of the men you are to watch over at risk.
To delay in the assumption of the post is dangerous and to abandon it is
deadly. Simply put, tendering ones resignation letter to the most high. You
abandoned your post as a Sunday school teacher, as an usher due to challenges you
faced in the church is not an excuse. You no more go out for evangelism, follow
up, you stopped interceding for the church, all the assignment God gave to you
that you have abandoned will cost you the great future. Man of God, you were
called as a teacher but because of the attractiveness of the prophetic
ministry, you abandoned your teaching ministry and became a prophet, remember
this for every position you are rightly occupying for God, there are more than
ten people that can replace you, therefore for a profitable service return back
to your duty post. The case you have against your leader which made you to
leave the church without God’s leading might land you in grave danger in your
service for God.
The
prodigal son returned, sir you too can return before heaven declares your duty
post vacant. In the case of the prodigal son he took the following steps back:
a.  He
REDISCOVERED himself
b. He
REPENTED of his crimes

      c. He
RESUSCITATED  himself “I will Arise and return back to my father”

      d. He
RETRACED his steps back home

e.  He
RETURNED back home

f. He
RENEWED his ways and service for the Father

g. He
was RESTORED as the son of the father

 I
can hear the father saying come back home!
