CHURCH LEADERSHIP: Understanding Conflict, Criticism & Crises (PT 1)
Act 6:1, Act 15: 36-39
The early church leaders faced many periods in the pursuit of the great commission and the expansion of the church, one of such experience that contributed to the gospel expansion is the period of conflicts, criticism and crises. Every leader will go through conflict and criticism at a point in time. As long as we are sent to people and relate with them we are bound to encounter different kind of people.
Conflict is Natural and we cannot ignore it. We might presently be going through rough time due to conflicts and criticism in our churches and ministry, allow me to say that it is normal and we all go through such in one way or the other. The paramount fact is not the occurrence of conflict but how we respond to it that will determine if conflict will be destructive or constructive. Latin word ‘CONFLICTUS’ which simply means to struggle, quarrel or to contend, collision
