one man job but an assignment that demands the hands of men in both carrying
and pursuing the fulfillment of the assignment. There are always men who are
laborers in the background on which many great ministries were designed and
built with. Faithful, loyal and committed men are an indefatigable tool for any
successful ministry or vision in life. When God surrounds one with useful and
helpful men, the ministry is energized for fulfillment. The pregnancy of a
child is carried by the mother alone, she experience the nine month feeling and
pain alone, but raising that child to greatness can never be done by her alone,
she needs the health practitioner to aid the delivery, teachers to impact the
formal knowledge in to the baby, the society to create a platform for
environmental understanding, the church for spiritual stamina, the family for
moral strength. Definitely you need men, viable one along the journey of your
life.
Effective relationship with men
can also be a solid foundation for effective vision and ministry; as a matter
of fact ministry involves God sending us to the people. In all ramifications
everyone needs destiny and ministry helpers to ease the demands and duties of
the work load on us. Jesus needed the twelve disciples, Moses needed Joshua,
Caleb and the heads of the tribes, David needed Jonathan, his mighty men of
valor, Paul had help from men like Timothy, Epaphroditus, the Philippians church
and a host of others. Therefore, conception of vision is yours alone, but the
execution is never yours alone, you definitely need men Getting reliable men is difficult, truth be
told God is not expecting us to get reliable men He needs us to produce them
for Him. The men with you do not simply add to you, they definitely multiply
you.

1Sam 22:1-2 “David
therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his
brethren and his entire father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him. And every one that was
in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and
there were with him about four hundred men.”

That is the beginning
story of the great David’s army who formed the basis of his mighty men; the men
he trained at the cave of Adullam. Therefore, stop looking for readymade
materials God don’t give out readymade materials he gives raw materials for you
to make them disciples. David never
waited for perfect soldiers who will be co-leaders but he had to labor, train
and develop the ones that came to him. Looking at the men that David captained,
they were men that has been humbled by the situations of life, men whose life
had no meaning any longer, no wonder they were loyal to him at all cost, ready
to sacrifice their life for his. Only the men you raise and train that you can
expect absolute loyalty from. Still looking for readymade men, then ask King
David, the kind of men that came to him where every one that was in distress, and every one
that was in debt, and every one
that was discontented, that he
might give them hope, vision, purpose and direction. This makes the leadership
in you viable and true.

According to Mark 3:13-19 a
similar instance was also revealed in Christ selection of His disciples, the
master’s choice of men for the eternal assignment was surprising as the Lord
after fasting for forty days and forty nights decided to choose men who were
actually fishermen, tax collector and men without stuff. They were nothing
before they met Christ, they were virtual raw materials, and if you ask some of
us today, these men do not qualify for the ministry of Christ work. But they
eventually laid the foundation of the Christian Church with their sweat, labor
and lives. Truly, Christ turned raw materials who were nobody into history
makers. He patiently train, nurture and raise them to become pillars of faith,
men he could entrust the future of his ministry unto.

Apostle Paul in his words used
the word ‘travail’
in
showing us the price of true spiritual parenting and fathering (Gal 4:19) “my little children, of
whom I travail in birth again until Christ is formed in you”.
Therefore, there must be someone or people in which God can entrust into our hands
to raise and train who will in turn serve as our own mighty men in the faith, ministry
and the pursuit of vision. The big question is therefore who are you travailing
on in the Lord? Who are those under your tutelage?

Furthermore, kindly note that most
ready-made materials won’t eventually stay with you, you’ll have to raise your
own men by yourself. Your ministry must produce its own disciples that will aid
in supporting your mandate. Going through the great commission Matt.
28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you…” The Lord never promised us men but
He asked us to go make those men using the great commission as a tool, teaching
them, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all things that he has
commanded us which are making more fishers of men (Matt 4:19).

Ready-made
men are someone else labor, they are not yours, and therefore you have to
seat down and labor to build up the men you need for the assignment. Men that
you raise can only be men like you. The disciples where called Christian in
Antioch because they were perceived to be men who have been with Christ. You
must develop an evangelistic mentality, the congregations you have gathered are
your raw materials and you need to labor on them skillfully and diligently
